You love to wear perfume, but that does not mean you will cover every inch of your skin with it.

If you spray your fragrance from your neck down, you will end up with a heavy scent that will follow you and suffocate people around you.

Fragrance should leave a hint on your skin that can be mysterious, inviting, or fresh.

Like when you are in an office, you’d want a subtle smell, not an overwhelming scent that will make your co-workers hate you.

Now, you also need to know your fragrance.

First, you need to see if your scent has a strong or light concentration.

There is Parfum, Eau de Parfum, and Eau de Toilette. EDT has the least concentration and is used the most.

3-5 sprays is a standard amount to get a good performance from your fragrance.

However, if you have a very light scent that disappears very quickly, you can go a bit over 5 sprays.

But where you spray is very important because that will help in the longevity of your perfume. Here’s what you should do:

Apply fragrance directly to the skin

Your skin can genuinely complement your perfume. The moisture of your skin can lock the fragrance and your scent and fully express itself.

Moreover, you can use unscented lotion or oil to add extra moisture to your skin and then wear perfume.

Don’t rub the fragrance

It is very wrong to dab fragrance in your skin. When you rub scent in your skin, it fades and evaporates before you can even smell it.

The top notes are essential because that’s the first impression of your fragrance. Next, you should let your perfume slowly mix with the natural oil of your skin.

Also, if you rub perfume on your skin, friction can cause heat and change the scent.

Apply fragrance on your pulse points

Pulse points are where you feel your pulses. They are warm spots on your body that emit extra body heat and naturally help diffuse the scent.

These points are your chest, wrist, behind the ear areas. The warm spots will recharge your fragrance.

Apply perfume on your clothes and hair

Your clothes can hold your fragrance way longer than your skin, so can your hair. So, they are an excellent option to keep your perfume longer.

However, if you are skeptical about spraying perfume on your hair, you can skip it.

There is a saying less is more and with your perfume, so you should follow that.

Is it bad to wear perfume every day?

Perfumes can make you feel more attractive and confident. There’s no reason not to wear a perfume every day, because of all its benefits! Unless you have any specific allergic reactions to perfumes.

Some people want to wear perfume once or twice a week because week because they want to keep it special. When you own a special attire, you don’t wear it every day right?

Just like that, you should reserve that special scent for those occasions that demand it. So that you will stand out from the rest.

Personally, I enjoy to wear a regular fragrance day to day that will keep me smelling good all day. It doesn’t have to be an expensive perfume, something within your budget will do. This can become my signature scent as well if I like it enough.

But make sure that your everyday wear cologne suits your personality and will actually complement it.

To me, wearing matching perfumes is a matter of personal preference. Some people like to wear the same fragrance everyday and others only want it for special occasions or events where they’ll be hit with lots of complements!

I’m not asking to change your perfume wearing habits, though.

I prefer using different scents depending on my mood so one perfume can serve both purposes; being light-hearted every day but also having more depth when you need some attention.

How long should you use perfume?

Like everything else, perfumes can go bad if you keep then long enough than recommended, but how long they last depends on the scent.

Some perfumes don’t have set expiry dates and will usually last anywhere between 1-10 years with an average shelf life of 3 to 5 years for most fragrances. Also, heavier base note scents typically hold their fragrance longer than lighter counterparts do! So try wearing perfume with those notes in it.

Perfumery experts advise that you should store your perfume bottles at a cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight. Perfumes tend to go bad if the temperature is fluctuating too much.

The best time to wear perfume is when you’re at your most relaxed. Apply it just before bed, and let the scent fill up the bedroom. If stored correctly from day one- don’t forget about climate change – perfumes can last for years without any problems.

The chemicals inside may start going out blunt long before their expiration date so make sure those bottles haven’t expired by using them regularly.

For best results, it’s crucial that you keep your perfume in the original container and away from heat.

For optimal fragrance output try keeping perfumes stored inside an enclosed space.

Where to spray perfume to last longer?

Where to spray perfume to last longer?

You should spray your favorite perfume on the pulse points of your body to make it last .

Pulse points are warm spots of your body that emit extra body heat. It will help to diffuse your fragrance naturally.

These areas allow perfumes to be genuinely enjoyed. Otherwise, the top notes vanish quicker.

So, you just need to wear perfume on those spots to have the best results.

Here are the areas on your body where you can apply fragrance:

Around the neck

The sides of your neck area are a common but effective place to for wearing perfume.

Inside elbows

The insides of your elbows emanate the heat and make your fragrance smell stronger.

Behind Ears

The area behind your ear focuses your face, so spraying perfume there will give direction to the scent.

On knees

The back of your knees is not a piece of common knowledge, but when you are wearing shorts, this can genuinely help.

Your ankles

During the summer and spring seasons, you can try spraying fragrance on your ankle. And it’s a great way to get rid of smelly feet.

Your wrists

It is also a well-known area to apply perfume, and it does let the scent go to a distance.

On throat

The center of your throat works well in making your perfume project stronger.

Your Chest

If you are wearing a low-cut fragrance, this is an excellent option as it will give you a pretty, all-over scent.

Also, apart from your skin, you can spray perfume on your Clothes and hair.

But, if you’re comfortable on not spraying perfume on your hair, then you can skip it. Or you can find a good hair perfume too.

However, just because you know where you are supposed to spray perfume does not mean you will spray generously on them all at once.

Look, if you spray on all the areas together, this will be overwhelming, and the scent will not be pleasant and other people will not complement you.

Instead, you should focus on depending on the occasion and balance accordingly.

A Tip: Use an unscented moisturizer or Lotion to make your perfume last longer with just a few sprays.

When to wear a cologne?

Learning when to wear cologne and whether or not you should use one at all depends on the environment. There are certain smells ideal for specific situations, so knowing which type is right can help improve any social interaction with others!

There are certain environments where you should wear cologne, and there’s a time for that perfect fragrance. It all depends on how your day is going to be – if it’s going into work or after an event at home with friends; every situation demands a different approach!

A lot can change based off these little details so make sure the cologne you’re wearing is suitable for that particular occasion.

Is too much cologne bad?

Colognes and perfumes can be a tricky subject. They’re made up of many different chemicals, including ethanol or isopropyl alcohol for stabilizing purposes.

If a cologne causes any problems with your health (such as allergic reactions) then stop using it immediately; however most retail stores will have testers so that helps reduce risk in case anyone wants to give this product another go themselves first before purchasing outright at full price.

To spray more liberally, use scents with lower concentrations like Eau de toilettes. For stronger fragrances with heavy notes like oud and leather, you should use two or three sprays max.

If you want to be discreet, err on the side of caution and only spray one or two sprays.

Too much cologne can have an opposite effect on you. Instead of getting complements, people will be bothered by the excessive sillage of your perfume and might stay away from you, even if the scent smells really good.

Even more, if it’s a workspace, someone might complain to your boss about it. Most women like a good-smelling guy if it’s too much then they can stay away. So use caution when applying cologne and make sure that it’s not too much for people around you.

How many sprays of perfume is right?

How many sprays of perfume

First thing first, you need to know your fragrance very well. It is because the ways to apply a more potent and lighter scent are different.

Also, you need to test which concentration goes with you the best, like parfum, Eau de parfum, or Eau de toilette. As each of them works differently, like:

  • Parfum is the strongest.
  • Eau de Parfum is 2nd strongest.
  • Eau de toilette is way subtler compared to others.

However, you should test a fragrance to see how long it lasts and then spray it accordingly. Here are some tips on how many sprays might be enough for you.

3 Sprays

Now, for the 3 spray routine, you have to spray behind each of your ears and your neck.

It will keep the fragrance least annoying for you and the people around you and project for a few hours.

However, it enables your fragrance not to be on your face. And people around will be invigorated by your scent without being overwhelmed.

And, this routine works for close encounters like Dates, office setting, and almost every casual occasions.

Use an unscented moisturizer or body wash with this routine to increase longevity of the perfume.

5 sprays

In addition to the 3 spray routine, add 2 more sprays on the left and right sides of your chest to get better longevity.

It will give an aggressive but confident boost to your scent. Also, it gives off a welcoming smell when standing in front of someone or giving a handshake.

And it goes well in a club, party or hangout with an extra kick.

7 sprays

Here, with the 5 sprays, add 2 more on the left and right sides of your shoulders or knees. Again, it is for an extreme going-out spray routine. Additionally, you can spray perfume on your hair.

However, it works for festivals, city centers, clubs, or any outdoor events. The scent cloud will cover your intimate areas, and people can only get your scent when they are near.

Is It Wise To Change Perfume every day?

Perfumes are among the most common things that people wear, and it can be easy to get caught up in your favorite scent.

However using them properly will help keep you smelling fresh for longer periods of time- as long as it stays fresh!

One smart trick is changing scents often; this way each fragrance in your collection has an opportunity to shine instead just getting lost amongst all those other smells on someone’s body or clothes.

To smell amazing, just using a good perfume is not enough. You have to know where to spray for maximum effect.

Also, if you have just one or two bottles of fragrances to choose from, a good way to not get boring by using the same perfume every day is to change them once in a while.

The next time you want to make an impression, try changing your perfume every day. Your favorite aroma will be all the more noticeable because it’s a new and different scent each morning!

Have you ever noticed that after wearing a particular scent for too long, it becomes harder to detect?

What’s the reason behind this?

Well, the longer we wear perfume-even our favorite one –the more accustomed ourselves and others become with its unique aroma–to the point where they no longer notice when we approach them while wearing that perfume.

While this may seem like just because people have different tastes in fragrances nowadays; their olfactory senses are actually playing tricks on them! This is why changing up what fragrance you use every day can really help improve your ability to stay relevant and get compliments.

Each time you wear a different perfume, it is like adding an additional sense to your senses. Every day we are becoming more accustomed and desensitized with the same scent until someone who has never smelled them before comes alongside us; they will be able notice the new scent immediately!

So try changing perfumes once or twice a week, if not possible everyday. Each week offers something fresh to sniff for you and those around and it’ll make you more confident.

Personally, I’ll say that keep a budget cologne for regular use and get something special with amazing longevity and complement factor to wear on special occasions. That’ll cover everything you need to smell good all the time.
