Colognes Similar To Fahrenheit Dior [Top 11 Dupes 2024]

Written By Easmin Akter

My father is the biggest fan of Fahrenheit Dior. It is often considered the ultimate symbol of masculinity.

However, I think Fahrenheit has become a bit outdated as it was composed based on the preferences of 80’s men.

So, when I was on the verge of buying a gift on my father’s birthday, I searched and found some colognes that would give him a similar nostalgic feeling and wouldn’t cut my wallet.colognes-similar-to-fahrenheit-dior

Below, I’m gonna share my findings in case you are also looking for such Fahrenheit replicas for your special man.

So, stay put!

What Does Fahrenheit Dior Smell Like?

Fahrenheit by Dior is a warm, leathery fragrance with fresh citruses in the opening. It’s not excessively woody or animalic. Instead, with a blend of strong violet, cedar, and musky vetiver, Fahrenheit smells decently masculine all the way through the base.

Simply put, despite being a vintage cologne, Fahrenheit is fresh, ozonic, and holds a woody masculine vibe.

Now, let’s take a look at the notes used in Fahrenheit by Dior to understand its aroma more precisely:

Top Notes: Nutmeg Flower, Lavender, Cedar, Mandarin Orange, and Chamomile

Middle Notes: Violet Leaf, Nutmeg, Cedar, Sandalwood, Carnation, and Lily-of-the-Valley

Base Notes: Leather, Vetiver, Musk, Amber, Patchouli, and Tonka Bean

Master perfumers Jean-Louis Sieuzac, Michel Almairac, and Maurice Roger created Fahrenheit Dior with fineness.

The opening gives a fresh, green, licorice vibe with a blend of some uplifting floral and citrusy accords. Here, I could also sense some woods and spices in the starting.

Then, after a while, its blossomy woody heart shows up. Powerful violet leaf and lily-of-the-valley give softness to the middle. Not only that, you’ll also feel a breathtaking powdery, woody blend of cedar and sandalwood with a spicy hint of nutmeg.

Fahrenheit gets extremely musky with time. During the dry down, dominating leather creates a sexy and inviting aura with a stable, warm, earthy tone.

Some say they smell a strong gasoline flavor in this cologne, but this wasn’t the case for me. It does give a dark, metallic vibe in the end. I think the leather makes Fahrenheit smell a bit like gasoline, yet it is not that strong.

Overall, I would say Fahrenheit expresses the masculine tone perfectly while smelling seductive and appealing. Without any doubt, I can say this is one of the best smelling Dior Colognes for men.

My partner tried it last winter and said it lasted on his skin for a straight 8 hours. The overall performance was okay but not so good if compared to the price.

What Colognes Smell Similar To Fahrenheit Dior?

When Fahrenheit was released in 1988, there was nothing even close to this gorgeous scent at that time. As its popularity was growing, countless brands released colognes inspired by this masterpiece from Dior.

However, you don’t need to try all of them because I’ve already sorted the best Fahrenheit Dior substitutes for you.

Here’s my list of 11 smell-alikes of Fahrenheit by Dior:

1. Mercedes-Benz Intense by Mercedes-Benz

mercedes-benz-intense-by-mercedes-benz

Top Notes: Violet Leaf, Lemon, and Calabrian Bergamot

Middle Notes: Violet, Bourbon Pepper, Nutmeg, and Galbanum

Base Notes: Bourbon Vetiver, Cedar, Cetalox, and Patchouli

What do you actually need in a fragrance to call it the best dupe?

It should smell similar, be more affordable, and perform better than the original, right? Mercedes-Benz Intense has all of these qualities in it. Hence, I placed it on the top of this list.

Just like the Fahrenheit, Mercedes-Benz cologne will freshen you up with a zesty, green, and sparkling floral opening.

As the fragrance develops, you’ll start to feel its actual richness. I can only say it smells extensively expensive and seductive with master-class violet accord.

Along with the spicy kick of pepper and nutmeg, the core will make you addicted to the aroma.

You won’t miss Leather in its dry-down at all. That’s because this cologne presents the signature woody, musky nature of Fahrenheit with the perfect amount of vetiver, cedar, and cetalox.

I just love this base aroma. All the accords here are perfectly balanced yet intense. It is seductive but never smells too cloying or offensive to my nose.

Plus, this addictive cologne stays up for about 10 hours and projects heavily.

Overall, if you’re thinking about saving some money, I’ll recommend going with Mercedes-Benz Intense. It smells much better, well-crafted, and won’t cut your pocket.

Mercedes-Benz Intense is something that I would like to smell as a signature scent on my man. This is also a good cologne for college guys.

When To Wear

Mercedes-Benz Intense is warm and refreshing at the same time, so wear it casually or formally throughout the year.

Why Should You Buy

  • Provides 80% similarity to Fahrenheit Dior.
  • Cheaper.
  • Better formulation.
  • Evokes modern masculinity.
  • Young women love it.
  • Long-lasting.

2. Ferrari Uomo Ferrari

ferrari-uomo-ferrari

Top Notes: Bergamot, Amalfi Lemon, and Juniper

Middle Notes: Leather, Nutmeg, and Virginia Cedar

Base Notes: Tonka Bean, French labdanum, and Patchouli

As I see it, Ferrari Uomo is a stylish and master-class dupe of Fahrenheit by Dior. Alberto Morillas did an outstanding job in modernizing and polishing the vintage Fahrenheit formulation.

Released in 2009, Ferrari Uomo is a lighter and more refined version of the original.

As soon as you spray this cologne, you’ll get its luminous and joyful presence hovering around you. The fusion of lemon and bergamot with a greenish hint of juniper smells just awesome.

The dark, musky aroma of leather emerges when the top fades after a few moments. I personally like this middle part more. It’s very musky but, at the same time, feels soothing and comforting with cedar.

This musky, leathery aroma with a woody undertone will amaze you during the dry-down, too. However, the base highlights the spicy, powdery nutmeg.

The smoky, masculine base with a hint of Tonka lasts on the clothes for more than a day. To my nose, the Ferrari Uomo is more subtle and pleasing than Fahrenheit and offers more value for money. So, just go for it.

When To Wear

Ferrari Uomo has an adaptable aroma that goes perfectly with any day of the year. I think it works better as a go-to scent for work or casual events in fall or spring.

Why Should You Buy

  • Budget-friendly.
  • Lighter and softer than Fahrenheit.
  • Attractive, masculine scent.
  • Lasts around 8 hours.
  • Strong sillage.

3. The Man Cobalt Milton Lloyd

the-man-cobalt-milton-lloyd

Top Notes: Lavender, Bergamot, and Lemon

Middle Notes: Violet and Cedar

Base Notes: Leather, Musk, and Moss

The next substitute is Man Cobalt by Milton Lloyd. Recently, I had the chance to test this dupe side-by-side with its inspiration. And to my surprise, I find it almost identical to Fahrenheit.

Similar to the original, The Man Cobalt has a strong, powdery, musky aroma. At first, it smells fresh and zesty, with lavender and citruses at the top.

Very soon, shimmering violet and cedar create a soothing environment in the middle. It finally ends with the evocative blend of leather, moss, and the seductive hint of musk.

Even without the spices, The Man Cobalt smells incredibly intriguing and lasts around 10 hours.

It projects broadly and leaves a sexy, masculine scent trail behind.

When To Wear

The Man Cobalt smells stunning in colder months. However, it can be a great pick for casual evening parties in summer or spring.

Why Should You Buy

  • Cheaper alternative to Fahrenheit.
  • Strong sillage.
  • Masculine and intriguing.
  • Suitable for smooth and clean scent lovers.
  • Worth the price.

4. Hitfire La Rive

hitfire-la-rive

Top Notes: Violet and Bergamot

Middle Notes: Violet and Jasmine

Base Notes: Cedar and Musk

Hitfire by La Rive is the next affordable Fahrenheit Dior clone that I’m gonna talk about now.

From the beginning, this fragrance is heavy in airy, powdery violet with an exciting hint of bergamot. I feel refreshed and energized the moment I spray Hitfire.

Sweet, dewy violet reigns in the middle, along with the green, indolic nuance of jasmine. I adore this sweet, floral middle so much, and it basically makes this cologne softer than Fahrenheit.

The masculine, woody aroma from the cedar and musk mix finally arrives in the dry-down. They flawlessly hold all the floral notes together, ensuring a strong and long-lasting fragrance trail.

I also got a subtle leathery aroma in the base while it was settling on the skin.

Apart from that, the unbelievably low price point gives more reason to buy this awesome cologne in place of pricey Fahrenheit.

When To Wear

Hitfire is wearable in any weather or event setting. However, I find it more attractive on any evening or nighttime outing in the fall.

Why Should You Buy

  • Low price point.
  • Premium violet note.
  • Soothing powdery tone.
  • Great performance.
  • Attractive dry-down.
  • Gets complimented by ladies.

5. 69 Fahrenheit Alexandria Fragrances

69-fahrenheit-alexandria-fragrances

Top Notes: Lavender, Nutmeg, Chamomile, Hawthorn, Cedar, and Lemon

Middle Notes: Violet Leaf, Honeysuckle, Nutmeg, Jasmine, Cedar, Sandalwood, and Lily-of-the-Valley

Base Notes: Lather, Musk, and Moss

In 2018, Alexandria Fragrances launched its interpretation of Fahrenheit by Dior. Composed as usual by Hany Hafez, the brand named this cologne 69 Fahrenheit.

He tried to replicate the fresh yet dark, petrol-like masculine aroma of the OG, and I would say he was successful to some extent.

When I tried this clone, I got about 50%-55% of similarity with Fahrenheit. Other than that, this is just a charming, warm, musky fougere scent for men.

The opening is powdery, spicy, and somewhat refreshing with a citrusy, floral undertone. Later, it turns into a soft, woody heart. However, I didn’t get the green nature in this core composition.

Its base resembles Fahrenheit the most. Similar to that, 69 Fahrenheit is musky, woody, and quite leathery, as you expect from a good interpretation of the vintage Fahrenheit.

In my opinion, its performance is quite satisfactory considering the low price. It’s very long-lasting and stays close to the skin after a few hours of heavy projection.

When To Wear

69 Fahrenheit is very warm and intense. So, I think it’s best to wear this cologne at any casual party during the fall or winter. Works well for the early spring, too.

Why Should You Buy

  • Way cheaper than Fahrenheit.
  • Lasts around 12 hours.
  • Strong projection.
  • Amped up spicy, woody notes.
  • Versatile

6. Fahrenheit Le Parfum Dior

fahrenheit-le-parfum-dior

Top Notes: Suede, Licorice, and Sicilian Mandarin

Middle Notes: Violet Leaf, Rum, Coriander, and Cumin

Base Note: Bourbon Vanilla

At a similar price range, I think Fahrenheit Le Parfum is a better choice than the OG. Dior released the Le Parfum iteration of Fahrenheit in 2014 with the artful composition of François Demachy.

The symphonic combination of suede and spices at the top is pretty contrasting. But François knows well how to turn such a contrasting combo into an addictive one. He added some citruses, and the result was astonishing.

Gradually, the scent attains a sweet, soft nature with the arrival of heart notes. Violet leaf adds some green aspects, while rum with spices brings warmth and booziness to the whole accord.

I get the gasoline-type leather tone even in the dry down. At the same time, Bourbon vanilla makes it richer and creamier and tones down the gasoline vibe a bit.

Furthermore, this flanker is very intense and long-lasting.

So, if you like strong, musky scents with some goodness of vanilla, just have this one instead of the original Fahrenheit.

When To Wear

Perfect for any special night events in winter where you need to attract some ladies with your charming and classy aura.

Why Should You Buy

  • Comes with the Fahrenheit DNA.
  • Suitable for colder months.
  • Smoother alternative.
  • Irresistible yet non-offensive.
  • Unique.

7. Galion d’Or Новая Заря (The New Dawn)

galion-dor-новая-заря-the-new-dawn

Top Notes: Violet Leaf, Cedar, Mandarin Orange, and Bergamot

Middle Notes: Sandalwood and Nutmeg

Base Notes: Amber and Musk

Galion d’Or by Новая Заря (The New Dawn) is another fragrance that I think makes a good Fahrenheit Dior dupe. Apart from the exactly similar look, it also carries the original woody, powdery DNA. But it is not as strong as Fahrenheit.

So, if you like premium and rich scents, this is a good option for you.

The cologne is unique in itself from the very beginning. Here, the dewy, green, violet leaf nuance is charmingly mixed with some citruses and woody cedar.

I tried it at a store recently, and the opening was so well-balanced that it instantly carried me away.

Afterward, the middle appears with the tuning of rich sandalwood and spicy nutmeg. This spicy, woody combo smells very tempting to me.

When the cologne dries on your skin, you’ll finally get the signature gasoline vibe, but it is much lighter and warmer than the original. Cedar is readily noticeable in the base.

Overall, this Fahrenheit replica is insanely appealing with an alluring musky base. It is such a scent that a mature and classy man would wear.

Plus, it provides 7-8 hours of longevity and strong projection.

However, Galion d’Or was released in 1998, so it is quite old and may not be readily available in the market. But don’t worry, as you can still buy vintage perfumes like this from some retail shops and websites.

When To Wear

Galion d’Or is wearable on both warm and hot days of the year. But in my opinion, it is best suited for any casual or formal occasion during the fall.

Why Should You Buy

  • Zesty and stable opening.
  • Well-layered notes.
  • The perfect balance of woods and spices.
  • Sensual and musky.
  • Versatile scent.

8. Bora Bora Exotic for Men by Liz Claiborne

bora-bora-exotic-for-men-by-liz-claiborne

Notes: Spices and Musk

Bora Bora Exotic for Men by Liz Claiborne is a simple yet very crowd-pleasing amber spicy fragrance. It came out in the year of 2007.

However, when I tried this cheapo, I was quite shocked to notice how similar it smells to Dior’s Fahrenheit. I would describe this cologne as a lighter and more pleasant version of the original.

The whole composition is very linear and has a fantastic combo of different spices with some woody and musky accords.

From the opening, it is very intriguing and upbeat. You can detect spices like anise, cinnamon, and nutmeg right away. It also has a subtle powdery woody character that stays up till the musky base appears.

Overall, Bora Bora Exotic is a masculine, sensual, and fascinating cologne with 7-8 hours of longevity.

When To Wear

Even though Bora Bora Exotic is wearable throughout the seasons, I think it’s a little heavy for summer. I see it as a date or clubbing scent during the cooler nights of spring or fall.

Why Should You Buy

  • Crowd-pleasing scent.
  • Suits the taste of ladies.
  • Addictive masculine tone.
  • Long-lasting.
  • Worth the money.

9. Diavolo Antonio Banderas

diavolo-antonio-banderas

Top Notes: Mandarin Orange, Bergamot, and Green Leaves

Middle Notes: Pepper, Geranium, and Patchouli

Base Notes: Leather, Musk, and Sandalwood

Diavolo by Antonio Banderas is one of the best but very underrated Fahrenheit Dior clones. With the combined work of Rosendo Mateu and Alain Muraour, this cologne came out to the market in 1997.

The first sniff of Diavolo Antonio has a mood-lifting citrusy aroma. The fresh, energetic tone further intensifies with green leaves.

After a while, the middle brings in a heavy dose of spicy pepper. I also detect a potent presence of patchouli and delicate geranium.

Then, during the dry-down, musky, tar-like leather makes the aroma quite reminiscent of Fahrenheit. In the end, sandalwood presents a smooth, powdery nature.

Overall, Diavolo Antonio feels like the lighter, fresher, and modernized version of Fahrenheit.

However, apart from a similar aroma, the thing that makes this cologne the best Fahrenheit alternative is its outstanding performance at a cheaper price range.

It settles in the skin with an arm-length sillage and lasts around 8 to 10 hours.

When To Wear

Diavolo Antonio is an all-rounder, and you can wear it seamlessly to any weather and occasion.

Why Should You Buy

  • Incredibly versatile.
  • Good projection.
  • Nice balance of freshness and seductiveness.
  • Offers great value for the money.
  • Attractive and praiseworthy scent.

10. Aqua Fahrenheit Dior

aqua-fahrenheit-dior

Top Notes: Grapefruit and Mandarin Orange

Middle Notes: Violet, Mint, and Basil

Base Notes: Leather and Vetiver

Dior’s Aqua Fahrenheit is my next pick as a Fahrenheit alternative for warm weather. François Demachy composed this flanker with unique and top-notch accords.

You’ll get a bit of a leathery, fuel-like tone in Aqua Fahrenheit, but it is toned down and diluted with some juicy, green accords.

Its opening offers a juicy, citrusy splash of grapefruit and bergamot. The fragrance’s aquatic nature will just cleanse your mind from the first spray.

Moments later, the citrusy cloud moves aside, and a soothing, powdery violet aroma appears with the greenness of basil. Mint basically maintains the opening freshness while adding a hunch of herbal spiciness to the core.

Finally, the cologne dries with musky, woody leather and vetiver in the base. This mind-blowing infusion channels an intense masculine sense to the aroma.

Although this is an aquatic composition, I was totally amazed by its performance. It indulges freshness all day long with a strong projection.

However, I wasn’t impressed with its pricing, it seemed a bit overpriced to me. Yet, if you like to collect good-quality designer colognes, this is a must-have.

When To Wear

Obviously, this is the ultimate choice for summer or spring. It works best for casual settings, but I wouldn’t mind if my man wears it on special nights. It is just that nicely balanced.

Why Should You Buy

  • Best fresh counterpart of Fahrenheit.
  • Insane longevity.
  • Strong projection.
  • A fine balance of fresh and warm notes.
  • Sensual yet decent scent.

11. Portrayal Man Amouage

portrayal-man-amouage

Top Note: Violet Leaves

Middle Note: Vetiver

Base Note: Cade Oil

My last and the most premium recommendation is Portrayal Man by Amouage.

This cologne is also heavy in powdery, green violet leaves, which you can smell as soon as the cologne opens up. It’s fresh, ozonic, and very pleasing.

Slowly, I started to get the familiar gasoline vibe when the cologne was settling on the skin. The airy, earthy vibe of vetiver is quite prominent in the core.

However, the dark woodiness of the middle accords intensifies with cade oil in the closing, but the fresh tone is still there.

This pure masculine cologne is extremely long-lasting and offers a strong, intense sillage and projection. But if you look at its price, I won’t say it is that worthy.

Nonetheless, if you are so into luxurious colognes, only then go for this one.

When To Wear

Portrayal Man is very versatile and suits both hot and cold weather. I personally think it goes better with formal attire during the fall or spring.

Why Should You Buy

  • Vibrant and addictive scent.
  • Clean and exquisite accords.
  • Finely layered.
  • More than 15 hours of longevity.
  • Sexy and classy approach.

Fahrenheit by Dior really deserves the hype that it is getting so far. However, many fans just back out seeing the price tag it has.
