What Does Lira by Xerjoff Smell Like?
Xerjoff Lira spreads the sparkling scent of blood orange and lavender, a gourmand tone of vanilla and caramel, and the spicy flavor of cinnamon & licorice. That is, it has a sweet & refreshing opening that turns toward a delicious core and finally sets in a seductive base.
The nose behind Lira Xerjoff is Chris Maurice. He included the following high-quality ingredients to make this femme fatale.
Top Notes: Blood Orange, Bergamot, Lavender
Middle Notes: Cinnamon, Licorice, Jasmine
Base Notes: Caramel, Vanille, and Musk
Vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon are the three dominating accord in this flacon. Their aura lasts till the end.
Blood orange and lavender are the secondary ones. Whereas jasmine and licorice are hard to sniff.
Whenever I sniff this fragrance, it reminds me of the following scenario:
It seems like Mom has prepared lemon-flavored cheesecake, caramel pudding, and mimosa orange cinnamon rolls on the arrival of guests. She has served all the desserts on a table and sprayed a few drops of lavender-scented air freshener around the room.
Consequently, a satisfying aroma made of gourmand, floral, and stimulating tones is coming to the nose. It’s just fabulous!
The lovely scent bubble of Lira Xerjoff lasts for up to 12 hours with moderate perfume projection. So, if you apply it at the start of your cozy day, you’re set till the evening.

1. Chocolate Dream by Alexandria Fragrances
Top Notes: Blood Orange and Bergamot
Middle Notes: Cinnamon and Caramel
Base Notes: Dark Chocolate, Licorice, Vanilla, Musk & Lavender
Chocolate Dream is the affordable and well-performing clone of Xerjoff Lira. It was designed by Hany Hafez and arrived in the industry in 2017.
At the first sniff of this clone, I can detect mainly three notes i.e. vanilla, caramel, and citrus. It’s like testing the mouthwatering flavor of orange caramel blondies, which have been taken out fresh from the oven and served on the plate. The chocolate chips on the top & fluffy desserts are enhancing my appetite.
The core is dense with the essence of chocolate, vanilla, and cinnamon. It is sharp, sweet, and admirable.
When Chocolate Dream dries on the skin, you will get a vanillic, musky, and powdery zest, along with the spiciness of licorice. It is absolutely tantalizing!
If you can’t afford the expensive Xerjoff Lira, grab this one to spice up your collection.

The exhilarating opening with blood orange, bergamot, and vanilla instantly elevates my mood. I don’t get the whiff of any delicious cookies at this phase. In fact, it reminds me of refreshing ice cream.

3. L de Lolita Lempicka by Lolita Lempicka
Top Notes: Bitter Orange and Bergamot
Middle Notes: Cinnamon, Immortelle, Musk
Base Notes: Vanilla, Tonka Bean, and Sandalwood
Maurice Roucel designed this amber-vanilla fragrance in 2006. It is about 95% similar to Lira Xerjoff.
However, finding this flanker is a hassle nowadays. You will see its modified renditions on many sites, including the official one. Fortunately, I got this one available on Amazon, and I grabbed that without any delay.
The opening of this fragrance is citrusy, which often reminds me of a sweet orange flavor. Additionally, I can detect the hint of vanilla from the very first sniff.
Within a few minutes, the sharp, peppery, and somewhat vanillc zest of cinnamon pairs with the citruses. This combo leads to a unique smell that is sweet, spicy as well as salty.
I most enjoy the dry-down phase among the various flavorful stages.
Here, vanilla’s rich & gourmand essence combines with the warm spicy, and woody edge of tonka bean.
Another precious note is sandalwood. However, its concentration is very smooth in this fragrance.
If I use metaphor to describe the overall aroma of this stunning flacon, then I will say sometimes it smells like lemon cake while other times it has a whiff of cinnamon pie and gingerbread cookie.
In a nutshell, L de Lolita Lempicka is an addictive blend of vanilla, spicy, and citrusy accords.

4. Love & Crime by Ex Idolo
Top Notes: Blood Mandarin and Pink Pepper
Middle Notes: Sugar, Star Anise, Floral Notes
Base Notes: Vanilla and Natural Cocoa
Seeing the eye-catchy name and after knowing about the inspiration behind this perfume, I instantly decided that I should purchase & test this flacon.
And to be honest, I’m fully pleased with the aroma and performance of this perfume. It brings endless praise to me, so it is one of my favorites.
Love & Crime by Ex Idolo was launched in the fall of 2018. Mazie Coyle and Thomas Howard’s love story is the inspiration behind this perfume. Mazie hid a saw in a wedding cake and sent it to Thomas in the prison. It was a successful attempt, and Thomas was able to escape from the Boston jail.
I think the radiant tone of blood orange and pink pepper in the opening resembles the guts & bravery of those love birds.
Whereas the sweet, vanillic, and balsamic floral notes in the core represent their wonderful chemistry, passion for love & romanticism.
Most of the time, this perfume smells like a lemon-frosted vanilla cake. The subtle touch of cocoa reminds me of the nutty and chocolatey toppings. Overall, this perfume unleashes a fantastic gourmand aura.

5. Soft by Al-Rehab
A couple of months ago, my friend came to meet me wearing this caramelly, vanillic, and citrusy fragrance. Initially, I guessed it was Lira or some premium smell-alike perfume.
But when I knew it was a cheap fragrance, I was impressed. The sugary-citrusy opening, caramelly heart, and musky-vanillic dry down with a hint of floral gist make it one of the closest substitutes for Lira.
Furthermore, you will find a fresh & powdery vibe in this fragrance that tones down the sweetness and makes it relatively smooth. Therefore, you can wear this at any time of the year.
When To Wear
Soft Al-Rehab is well-rounded, so you can wear it all year round. But I will recommend avoiding it on the scorching summer days. Instead, you can rely on perfumes similar to Light Blue Summer.
Why Should You Buy
- Affordable.
- Versatile & trendy.
- It lasts for 12 hours.
- A compliment puller with standard projection.
- Returns excellent value for the money.
6. Vanille by Franck Boclet
Top Notes: Lime, Grapefruit, Cardamom
Middle Notes: Caramel, Ginger, Flowers
Base Notes: Vanilla Absolute, Cedar, and Musk
Vanille by Franck Boclet is quite trendy due to its inviting aroma. It is reminiscent of Lira Xerjoff; however, cinnamon is missing. And I think the nice flavor of cinnamon is replaced by the uplifting essence of ginger here.
The first time, it hits my nose with the refreshing & spicy zest of lime, grapefruit, and cardamom.
Moreover, there was a hint of a caramelly tone whispering in the background, which becomes prominent with time.
In the core, you will get to enjoy a sweet, gingery, and floral aroma. It seems like the flavor of a delicious dessert is continuously tickling the nose. Additionally, a soothing flowery aroma is floating in the air from time to time.
The dry down is vanillic and musky. It is not overly sweet in fact; it smells bright and so pleasant for daytime use.

The blend of vanilla & caramel has made Vanille by Franck Boclet great for cold weather. However, you can use it on the airy days of autumn & spring.
Why Should You Buy

7. Tendre Madeleine by Laurence Dumont
Top Notes: Bergamot and Cinnamon
Middle Note: Almond
Base Notes: Vanilla, Musk, and Woodsy Notes
Tendre Madeleine by Laurence Dumont came out in 2009. Similar to other alternatives to Lira Xerjoff, it is reminiscent of sponge cake or cookies.
It starts with a twist of bergamot and cinnamon. It smells juicy, slightly pungent, and spicy. It is pretty strong, in my opinion.
But when vanilla and milky almonds join, a good amount of sweetness rises. This sugary and nutty flavor combines with the previous sour kinda aroma and results in an exciting aura.
The dry down of Tendre Madeleine by Laurence Dumont is creamy vanillic, woody, and musky. Most of the time, this fragrance lies on the edge of vanilla tone, and sometimes, I feel like eating it!
When To Wear
This non-overpowering yet dense perfume is ideal for the cooler months. You can also apply it in early spring when the weather remains airy and pleasant.
Why Should You Buy
- Budget-friendly Xerjoff Lira dupe.

8. Tendre Madeleine by Les Senteurs Gourmandes
Several years ago, I found this perfume in my elder sister’s collection. And after getting the snap of it, I felt blissful.
It is an outstanding combo of vanilla, orange, and spicy accords. At the very first moment, the marvelous fusion of vanilla and orange juice tickles my nose.
This blend takes me back to the golden days of childhood when grandma used to make orange creamsicle ice cream. It was one of my favorite childhood treats!
Apart from the delightful accord, there exists a delicate spicy trail of cinnamon.
Moreover, a nutty nuance (more likely almond) becomes apparent sometimes and gives a vibe of almondy orange pastry. It’s not overwhelming at all, so roaming around the city wearing this scent won’t seem weird.

Top Notes: Blood Orange, Lavender, Bergamot
Middle Notes: Cinnamon, Licorice, Jasmine
Base Notes: Caramel, Vanilla and Musk
Sana by Blend Oud was released in 2016. Frankly speaking, it is Lira Xerjoff in a different bottle.
It radiates an exquisite blend of blood orange and cinnamon in the opening. If you pour a few drops of orange essence into the boiled water spiked with cinnamon, you will get the same smell.
The core and dry-down are similar. In these stages, you will get to enjoy a savory aroma with a mixture of caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, and licorice. These flavors symbolize the warm-hearted feminine character.
Jasmine is bland here; maybe this floral essence isn’t included here, or the amount is very poor.
However, if you’re very fond of the jasmine flavor, you can try perfumes similar to Creed Wind Flowers.

Middle Notes: Mimosa, Tonka Bean, Licorice
Base Notes: Caramel, Vanilla, Praline and Sandalwood
MG Gulcicek and Firmenich created this sweet-aromatic fragrance and came out with this in 2019.
Whenever I sniff this, I feel like the flavors of different desserts have been poured into this scent.
The luxurious bottle offers a blast of sugar and orange in the beginning. With time, the sugary flavor becomes powerful, and the orangish zest becomes mild.
I just adore the stage where the sweetness of vanilla & praline merges with the woody-balsamic and tangy nuance of mimosa and orange.
On top of that, the spiciness of tonka and licorice also arrives. This is a moment when you can feel all the magical touches included in this premium flacon.
As the perfume dries, the woody and vanillic tone becomes more evident. That’s how the start to the end of Hazz Regalien.
Are you in love with the powdery and honey-like aura of Mimosa? Then, you can take a look at perfumes similar to Mimosa & Cardamom by Jo Malone.

- Enormous hype.
- Lasts for the whole day.
- 6 feet of sillage.

Closing Thoughts
Lira Xerjoff doesn’t come at a reasonable price. Thus, my first attempt was to find affordable dupes for it. However, some perfumes contain very identical DNA to Lira but come with a hefty price tag.
I have mentioned both the budget-friendly and pricey ones. Now it’s your turn to select any of them and enjoy the aura.
Let me know which alternative you’ve chosen, and the smell reminds you of which dessert.
Have a good day!
