Fragrances Similar To Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian

Written By Nabila Lisha

Sharing my experience of the masterpiece Grand Soir brings me immense joy. Not only am I a devoted user of this MFK gem, but I’ve also curated a collection of fragrances that share its distinctive DNA.

However, due to its hefty price tag, using it daily isn’t quite feasible for everyone.fragrances-similar-to-grand-soir-maison-francis-kurkdjian

If you share a similar budget-conscious mindset and still want to embark on a comparable aromatic journey, I recommend trying these alternatives that I’ve gathered after thorough research.

What Does Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian Smell Like?

Grand Soir by MFK is a pure amber-based fragrance with lots of honeyed richness of vanilla. This scent overall emanates a hay-like, warm, nutty, and powdery essence, along with an added touch of tobacco that brings a smoky undertone.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian marketed this unique fragrance in 2016. The amber-vanilla composition of Grand Soir evokes a nostalgic essence, reminiscent of the toffee from my childhood.

The fragrance successfully captures the enchanting ambiance of Paris, the City of Lights. And Francis Kurkdjian composed Grand Soir by using the following ingredients:

Notes: Amber, Vanilla, Siam Benzoin, Spanish Labdanum, Tonka Bean, Lavender.

The fragrance opens with a deep, vanilla essence with a sweet, balsamic undertone of siam benzoin. Within a few minutes, you will start sniffing a warm, musky tint of labdanum and a herbal, floral combo of lavender.

This amber-vanilla combo doesn’t really change during dry-down.

Finally, it leaves a sweet, creamy slightly vanillic aroma of tonka bean, which ensures warmth in cold, snowy weather. Plus, It stays up to 12 hours on my skin with heavy projection.

In my opinion, this is Christmas in one bottle that serves several pleasant sweet aura at a time.

While it’s undoubtedly an admirable choice, the expensive price isn’t affordable for regular use. Hence, in the following section, I’ll describe some more budget-friendly alternatives.

What Fragrances Are Similar To Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian?

Grand Soir has a harmoniously blended amber and vanillic aroma that mesmerized me with its dense sensuality. After thorough testing, I’ve selected some notable pure, classy fragrances, just like the MFK one.

Let’s explore my tested substitutes for Grand Soir Maison Francis Kurkdjian:

1. Eternal Oud Lattafa Perfumes

eternal-oud-lattafa-perfumes

Top Notes: Plum, Grapefruit.

Middle Notes: Heliotrope, Orchid.

Base Notes: Amber, Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Labdanum, Agarwood (Oud).

If you want a gorgeous amber fusion at an affordable price, look no further! Eternal Oud is one of the renowned options. Lattafa Perfumes created this sweet, fruity composition in 2022 that also captures the identical aura of Grand Soir.

The opening of Eternal Oud is juicy and tangy with lots of fruity flavors of plum and grapefruit.

Slowly the citrusy tone fades while the blooming flowery essence of heliotrope and orchid arrives at the core.

As you delve into the final phase, the charismatic ambery aroma takes all the attention with its warm, powdery tint. The potent vanillic blend, infused with the oriental-woody combo of agarwood, makes the closing undeniably passionate.

Because of this oud essence in this dry-down, Eternal Oud becomes more evocative comparatively than the Grand Soir.

Apart from all this, this perfume lasts around 10 hours on my skin and spreads moderately within the arm-length area.

When to Wear

The warm, sweet aroma of Eternal Oud goes remarkably in every day & nighttime program in cold, snowy weather. Besides, you can use this for your blind dates in any season.

Top Note: Vanilla Absolute.

Middle Note: Tonka Bean.

Base Note: Sandalwood.

While searching for top-quality alternatives to Grand Soir I found Sound of a Ricochet as an underrated fragrance from Floraïku. In 2017, Sophie Labbe composed this sweet, gourmand perfume.

From the first sniff of this fragrance, I received the same toffee-like smell of vanilla absolute with a subtle, desert-type aroma on top.

After a while, as you reach the core, the smooth, creamy texture of tonka bean elevates your soul with subtle vanilla twists.

I could feel the vanilla aroma throughout the fragrance, even in the dry-down. Within a moment, the woody, musky aroma of sandalwood mixes up with the sweet, musky hunch and makes the closing dreamy.

Additionally, this head-turner fragrance performs really well in a 3-feet radius with 10 hours of strong lasting power.

Top Notes: Nutmeg, Thyme.

The marvelous perfumer duo Gerald Ghislain and Magali Senequie created an amber spicy fragrance, called Ambre 114. Back in 2001, Histoires de Parfums launched this perfume that earned massive appreciation instantly.

Once you spray this flacon, your heart will be delighted by the fresh, herby accords of nutmeg & thyme at the outset.

The middle is full of bold notes, where you will strongly sense the woodsy, earthy smell of patchouli and sandalwood. The mild, flowery tone of the rose softened the solid aromas and built an evocative core.

This is a perfectly balanced fusion of spices, flowers, and woods. What do you think?

Finally, the cologne dries on your skin with a magnificent composition of amber, vanilla, and tonka bean. Here, you will get a sensual warmth with a woody, musky undertone.

4. Crater The Dua Brand

crater-the-dua-brand

Notes: Labdanum, Vanilla, Tonka Bean, Benzoin.

Crater is a dedicated clone of MFK’s Grand Soir by The Dua Brand. It’s a surprisingly simple fusion of amber, vanilla, and resin.

It starts off with a very, simple, creamy vanilla texture along with a potent musky labdanum hint.

As the fragrance develops, it spreads a woody, musky aroma of tonka bean. The woody touch makes the scent more structured and sexy for both males and females.

At last, it settles on my skin with the warm, resinous sweetness of benzoin.

Overall from top to bottom, you will feel the soft, fluffy vanilla essence hovering around. If you love the vanillic smoothness in your signature scent, you should explore these incredible vanilla perfumes.

And you can sense its presence for around 10 hours with a noticeable radiating capacity.

When to Wear

Just like the original one, this replica also shines amazingly during winter and fall outings. Due to its affordable cost, you also can use this fragrance as your go-to scent at every night party.

5. Amber Grand Pendora Paris Corner

amber-grand-pendora-paris-corner

Notes: Amber, Vanilla, Labdanum, Tonka Bean, Benzoin.

Speaking of the finest yet budget-friendly amber fragrance, Amber Grand Pendor from Paris Corner is the first that pops up in my mind. I came across this gem last year at a local perfume store.

This dupe opens with its aromatic journey with the rich, syrupy tone of vanilla.

Later the perfume reveals a warm, dusty, sugary nuance of amber that collaborates with the musky essence of labdanum, making the fragrance more dense and evocative.

As the fragrance dries, the aura becomes more bold and passionate, just like the Grand Soir. From this closing, you can experience a woody, spicy, nutty, herby smell of tonka bean with an opulent resinous touch of benzoin on top.

Unexpectedly, it captures more than 90% accords of the legendary Grand Soir with remarkable performance.

When to Wear

The deep, comfy, and tempting aura of Amber Grand Pendora works great in the heavy winter and bracing fall nights. It is a staple scent for romantic date nights.

Why Should You Buy

  • Luxurious bottle design.
  • Strong sillage and longevity.
  • Best for cold, chilly weather.
  • Versatile fragrance for all-purpose use.
  • A good option for late-night parties.

6. Amber Heath Burberry

amber-heath-burberry

Notes: Ambergris, Patchouli, Vanilla, Benzoin, Labdanum, Amber, Tonka Bean, Tolu Balsam.

Amber Health by Burberry is another amber, gourmand fragrance that was also composed by the same perfumer of GS, Francis Kurkdjian in 2017.

From this luxurious blend, you will get a multidimensional ambery essence of several elements.

At the top, it spreads a sweet, cloying smell of vanilla along with some ambery, creaminess of labdanum.

The warm, sensuality of amber enriches with time while the resinous woody smell mingles with the balsamic note of tolu balsam in the core. After a while, a bold, erotic fusion of ambergris and tonka makes the aura crowd-pleasing.

Finally, the perfume finishes off with a tremendously earthy-woody nuance of patchouli. During dry-down, you can still sense the ambery warmth prominently.

Overall, I would say, it’s a staple collection that finely decorates your winter night with the undeniable smoothness of amber.

Besides the rich scent formation, this Burberry cologne also offers eternal longevity that propagates heavily within 6 feet.

When to Wear

I found Amber Health warmer and creamy, which suits better nighttime events in cold, chilly weather. However, you can apply this fragrance in any formal meeting in air-conditioned office rooms.

Why Should You Buy

  • Premium dupe of Grand Soir.
  • The best option for night outs.
  • Compliment magnet.
  • A perfect, attractive gift for someone dearest.
  • 15+ hours of longevity.
  • Suitable for every dress program.
  • Outstanding projection & sillage.
  • Sexy, classic scent for adults.

7. Paris Night Alexandria Fragrances

paris-night-alexandria-fragrances

Notes: Amber, Siam Benzoin, Tonka Bean, Vanilla, Spanish Labdanum.

House perfumer of Alexandria Fragrances created a Grand Soir-inspired perfume, named Paris Night.

Similar to the Grand Soir, it also captures the same delightful vibe of the city romance of Paris.

This 2018’s clone has a very soft opening with a caramelized sweetness of vanilla. Amber is the shining star here that radiates potently throughout the overall composition.

The sweet start drastically transforms into a warm, musky smell of tonka bean at the core.

And ultimately settles with an addictive woody, earthy, musky, ambery combo. Surprisingly, I found it more affectionate in the dry-down compared to the MFK one.

I must admit that once you discover a classy scent like this at a pocket-friendly price, it’s hard to consider trying any luxurious fragrance afterward.

When to Wear

Paris Night spreads a dense, gourmand aura, which is suitable for every formal and casual occasion in winter/fall. Apart from that, you can use this fragrance as your go-to scent on spring date nights.

Why Should You Buy

  • Budget-friendly dupes of GS.
  • Gives a cozy, comfy feel on winter nights.
  • Sexy and evocative closing.
  • Amazing amber, vanilla composition.
  • Best for romantic dates.
  • Stays more than 12 hours on the skin.

8. Ambar Del Sur Carner Barcelona

ambar-del-sur-carner-barcelona

Top Note: Bergamot.

Middle Notes: Amber, Australian Sandalwood, Indonesian Patchouli Leaf, Water Jasmine.

Base Notes: Myrrh, Madagascar Vanilla, Spanish Labdanum, Tonka Bean.

Last, but not least, I’m gonna introduce Ambar Del Sur from Carner Barcelona, which also earned enormous popularity among amber lovers, since its first debut in 2018.

Unlike the MFK Grand Soir, this royal creation bursts off with a juicy, citrusy flavor of bergamot.

To be honest, the opening is so stimulating that it can easily uplift your mind.

30 to 40 minutes later, the fresh aura turns into an amber-faceted, woody, herby composition of sandalwood and patchouli leaf. Water jasmine works as a boosting element here, which elevates the solidness by giving a soothing floral tint to it.

The dry-down is slightly balsamic and spicy, with tons of vanillic sweetness. Meanwhile, labdanum and tonka bean give this composition a sexy, enchanting finish.

I would say, it’s a well-blended, amber-vanilla scent that comes with an impressively lower budget.

However, I found it a tad bit lighter than the Grand Soir, so you may reapply this fragrance within 6 hours to attain maximum longevity.

When to Wear

Winter, fall, and early spring are the optimal time to use Ambar Del Sur. The warm, deep mixture of this fragrance makes your presence pleasing in every public gathering.

Why Should You Buy

  • Standard projection and sillage.
  • Perfect for evening & night events.
  • A good option for short trips.
  • Uplifting fruity opening.
  • Interesting flowery twists.
