Well, Maremma only used the keynotes of Black Orchid to make a similar smelling scent.

Firstly, the black currant, ylang, jasmine, and bergamot in the opening somehow managed to mimic that fantastic opening of Black Orchid. It’s fruity, floral, and, most importantly, fresh enough.

But if we compare it with Black Orchid, we’ll get nothing but frustration.

However, Oud 24 Hours keeps the legacy from the middle. The middle was fruity, spicy, and floral, just like Black Orchid.

After some time, your nose will fill with Oud along with patchouli, sandalwood, incense, and amber.

Just like Maremma, vanilla is missing here. As a result, the sweetness is not up to the level.

Let’s start with the opening. The opening of Dark Orchid is mind-blowing, but if we compare this with Black Orchid, those fruity notes and especially that black currant vibe are missing.

But as an individual fragrance, the opening of Dark Orchid is mind-blowing.

Well, in the middle, Dark Orchid has orchid, lotus, ylang, and jasmine. As they didn’t use any spicy notes and floral notes, I found this middle incomplete. The middle is simple without any depth of Black orchid, and I must say, it’s the weakest part of Dark Orchid.

However, Dark Orchid created a superb base for you guys. The sweetness is balanced, and the greeny vibe is prominent enough.

They could use amber for depth or cocoa for a sweet twist. But they didn’t use any notes to add more texture to the base. But the transition of notes was excellent.

Before diving into the review, I want to say that the DNA base is entirely different in La Yuqawam.

It’ll be better to understand if you consider this as an individual alternative of Black Orchid, not like a clone.

In the opening, La Yuqawam smells like smoky citruses. The opening is really interesting. It’s fresh and smoky, which is really rare to find.

After some time, the combination of cinnamon, pink pepper, and ylang is fantastic. Although,This fragrance didn’t use a wide range of fruity and floral notes like Black Orchid, it has enough depth to stand on its own.

Well, In the base, they used sandalwood, milk, and muss. The combination of these three elements is impressive. You won’t believe how milk helped this fragrance to balance the sweetness. You guys should try this fragrance.
