What are the Best Le Labo Colognes?
I think New York-based niche cologne house Le Labo is different from other brands.
Why, You ask?
Well, Le Labo says they intend to make colognes that evoke your emotion and add a soulfulness to your cologne collection.
And their statement is reflected in their craft. Le Labo’s ingredients for making their colognes are 100% natural and cruelty-free. So if you’re a vegan, you should definitely check out their colognes.
So, here are the best smelling Le Labo colognes for men:
Le Labo Santal 33
Middle notes: Iris, violet, cardamom.
Base notes: Sandalwood, cedar, leather, amber.
Undoubtedly, the most popular cologne from this house is Le Labo Santal 33 Eau de Parfum.
Here’s why:
Santal 33 is a classic cologne that projects a woody, masculine and rugged vibe.
From the first encounter, this cologne is guaranteed to charm you and others with its eclectic mix of spicy and floral notes.
Looking for a cologne that will get you compliments?
Well, you need to add Santal 33 to your collection. The intoxicating aroma of this cologne comes from a mix of spicy, leathery, and musky notes.
As a NY based brand, Le Labo’s inspiration for Santal 33 EDP was American wild west and the Cowboy Masculinity. So, this could be a perfect match for your macho persona.
Santal 33 Eau de Parfum has gained a cult following for its signature scent. This is definitely the Editor’s pick from the Le Labo colognes that I have reviews in this blog.
In my own experience, the longevity and sillage of Le Labo Santal 33 are incredible. It lasted more than 12 hours on me with strong projection.

If you’re into layering your scents, then layer this cologne with a vanilla-based cologne to make it even more irresistible. Also, you can pair it with Le Labo Shower Gel to enrich the fresh masculine vibe.
WHEN TO WEAR:
But this cologne would work best in the Winter. The mix of spicy and leathery notes gives a warm vibe on cold days.
WHY YOU SHOULD BUY:
GQ declared Le Labo Bergamote 22 as the #1 bergamot based cologne in the world. And after using it, I can say that the title is worthy indeed. As you can guess from the name, the main note in cologne is bergamot, an orange fruit found in Italy. It projects a clean and fresh opening. On the first sniff, you’ll get the sharp, bright citrus scent of bergamot and hints of tart grapefruit. After a while, the fruity notes mix with the sweet vanilla and amber notes. And that’s when this cologne becomes really seductive. Basically, If you’ve ever wondered what “Summer-in-a-bottle” smells like, Bergamote 22 Eau de Parfum is your answer. The best thing about this cologne is that it’s not just uplifting; the crisp, zesty citrus scent paired with woody/musky base notes is guaranteed to get you compliments from the ladies. Are you worrying about the longevity? I found Bergamote 22 to be a long-lasting cologne. I got strong bergamot and orange blossom scent for the first 3+ hours, and after that, the lovely mix of floral and woody base notes lasted for 5+ hours. Overall, Bergamote 22 EDP is an essential summer cologne that you can rock on both casual and formal occasions. No matter what types of scent you prefer, you can’t go wrong with a crowd-pleasing cologne like Le Labo Bergamote 22. WHEN TO WEAR: If you are someone who loves everything about bright and Sunny Summer days, you need to get your hands on this cologne ASAP. It will be a worthy investment to level up your summer attire. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY: Le Labo’s Patchouli 24 Eau de Parfum is a really unique cologne. Why? Well, instead of smelling like what a patchouli based colognes should be, this one has an intense smokey vibe in the opening. But that’s not all Patchouli 24 offers. In the dry-down, those smokey and woody notes mix up with a creamy Vanilla base note to make a breathtaking cologne. In a word, Patchouli 24 is mainly a Smoky scent with sweet undertones. With this, you’re going to get a gorgeously captivating cologne that’s unlike anything in the market. But remember that this has an intense smokey scent, so before buying, you should probably test it at the store and see if it suits you. Patchouli 24 EDP is an elegant scent that may not become your signature cologne, but it will save you on special occasions. Check out: Best Smelling Mancera Colognes For Men WHEN TO WEAR: Also, the Longevity and projection of Patchouli 24 were marvelous. It lasted for almost 10 hours on me. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY : colognes that are made via collaboration with other artists are always a hit or miss. In the case of Le Labo’s Another 13 Eau de Parfum, it’s undoubtedly a hit. There are 13 ingredients in this cologne ( Hence the title ), and among them, two notes are prominent- Jasmine and Moss. The beautiful floral notes of jasmine, when mixed with moss, creates a heavenly scent. In the base notes, I got ambroxan notes that made Another 13 more manly. Le Labo describes this cologne as an “Addictive dirty potion,” After wearing it, I could see the reason behind the title. The longevity was average at 6+ hours. But, the top quality of the juice is the main reason behind Another 13’s popularity. WHEN TO WEAR: WHY YOU SHOULD BUY: I found Iris 39 to be one of the most beautiful smelling scents from Le Labo. Opening with divine lime and spicy ginger notes, Iris 39 captivated me right from the start. After a while, I got the powdery fresh floral scent of Iris. In dry-down, warm musky base notes tangle with the florals to take Iris 39 to the next level. I personally don’t like overly powdery smelling colognes, and you might not like them too. But, Iris 39 balances the powdery scent with other notes like lime, ginger, patchouli, and musk. And finally, the longevity of Iris 39 was excellent. I could detect it on my skin for 7+ hours and even longer on my clothes. You count on Iris 39 not to bail on you at the end of the day. WHEN TO WEAR: But it’s best to wear it during the summer and spring. Also, This felt like more of a daytime cologne. It is also perfect for both Casual and Formal events. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY: This cologne is Le Labo’s offering to Oud Lovers. If you’re into Oud based cologne, you must check out Oud 27 Eau de Parfum. This cologne opens with a strong scent of oud and musk. There are some animalistic accords in there too. Like me, you might not get acquired with the punchy notes at first. But, I would suggest you have patience and allow the cologne to settle down. You’ll be left with the incredible mix of sweet, leathery, and woody scent. Oud 27 was a wild ride. It felt funky and fresh, but still, there were hints of deeper animalistic vibes. Oud 27 gave me the impression that it could easily be included in the classic 90’s masculine cologne list. A warning! The notes in this cologne could be a bit off-putting, so I would suggest trying out a sample before purchasing. Read more on: Top Dolce & Gabbana Colognes For Men WHEN TO WEAR: This cologne can be too strong and loud during warmer seasons like summer and spring. However, Oud 27 turned into a beast mode cologne during the colder days. It lasted up to 8 hours on my skin. WHY YOU SHOULD BUY: Neroli 36 Eau de Parfum can easily compete with the best smelling Summer colognes. Neroli ( essential oil from Orange blossom ) instantly adds a summer vibe to any cologne. So, you can probably guess that Neroli 36 has some fruity citrus notes. You’re right! Neroli 36 opens with beautifully zesty Mandarin Orange and Orange blossom. I could also detect a slight zing of aldehydes in there. That’s not all, though. The fruity notes make way for the uplifting smell of jasmine and rose in the dry-down. And to top off this exotic mix of scents, you’ll get a warm musky base with creamy vanilla. Neroli 36 was a charming cologne. The warm fruity, and floral notes made me happier after wearing the cologne. Although, the longevity was not on par with other Le Labo colognes. It lasted 5+ hours before fading away. In a word, Neroli 36 EDP is a perfect cologne to enjoy while you’re enjoying the warmth of the sun in your morning walk or feeling the ocean breeze on the sea beach. WHEN TO WEAR: WHY YOU SHOULD BUY: Le Labo colognes are not cheap. But, the high price is because buying a cologne from Le Labo is unlike anything you’ve experienced before. What I loved most is Le Labo’s minimalist and eco-friendly approach to bottle design. It is a unique and modern concept despite having a vintage look. Look, each Le Labo cologne bottle has a simple label with the title of the cologne. You can also print your name on the label, which adds a personal touch to the bottle. The best thing about this approach is reducing waste. You can bring your empty bottle after using it and refill it for a 20% discount. The main feature of almost every Le Labo cologne is a prominent note reflected in the title. So, you immediately get an idea about what the cologne will smell like after just taking a look at the bottle. This way, you don’t have to waste time browsing the internet to look for notes while shopping in the cologne store. Also, you can check out: Amazing Hugo Boss Colognes for Men Le Labo is a brand you should keep your eye on for its unique and elegant colognes. I am sure you’ll always find a cologne here that will fit you. I would say the value of Le Labo colognes is worth the price. Even if you can’t try out all of their colognes, At least include Santal 33 in your cologne collection. Aside from the fresh handmade colognes, the thing that made me fall in love with Le Labo was their organic approach to making their scents. Whether you are a vegan or not, I think you’ll agree that using non-toxic and cruelty-free ingredients to make colognes will help make the world a better place. I think they put craftsmanship and passion over everything else when they create their colognes. I haven’t noticed that with other designer brands. Although Le Labo colognes are expensive. I think the experience and personal touch of buying a Le Labo cologne is something unique and worth the price.
