In 2000, Frederic Malle decided to create his own niche house by taking the top 9 perfumers. Since then they started creating their own magic and produce amazing fragrances.

Portrait Of A Lady Frederic Malle: Most Iconic
Middle notes are Patchouli, Incense and Sandalwood;
Base notes are Musk, Benzoin and Amber.
Portrait Of A Lady is one of the most iconic perfumes of all time. It is one of those fragrances which can be put in a museum.
This perfume has the best combination of rose and incense in my opinion.
The opening is all about rose water. You will feel like you just entered the church and someone sprinkled holy rose water on you.
After that the smokiness kicks in, followed by the sandalwood. Black to Black by Mancera is closer to the scent Portrait Of A Lady but that one’s a bit darker.
With time, you can detect all the notes one by one in this fragrance. However, rose, incense and sandalwood are the major notes here.
You can ask no question about its longevity because it stays for eternity with you with just one spray. Portrait Of A Lady is a beast when it comes to projection as well.

En Passant Frederic Malle: Lilac Done Right
En Passant is my favourite lilac based perfume of all time because most of them are heavy enough to give you a headache.
Olivia Giacobetti is the nose behind this masterpiece. Most of her fragrances are light and inoffensive. Maybe this is why she could use the note lilac like no other.
Basically, if you are looking for an aquatic green floral scent, En passant is perfect for you.
Applying En passant would make you feel like you are passing by a lilac garden after the rain. The water notes give off the vibe that every note has water droplets on them.
In addition, cucumber helps with the calmness of the scent as well. The combination of wheat and cucumber is very unique. I do not own any other perfume which has these two ingredients together.
However, the longevity is not that great, it lasts for 5 to 6 hours.

Iris Poudre Frederic Malle: Indescribable Soapy Iris Scent

Iris Poudre is a fragrance which will make you love yourself a little bit more. You won’t be able to stop smelling yourself.
When I purchased it, I did not have very high expectations. But, oh my God, Iris Poudre blew my mind with its elegance.
The iris here has a soapy feeling. It is indescribable to be honest.
Infusion d’Homme by Prada has an iris note as well. They give off similar energy.
It is such a classy scent. The floral arrangement will make you blush and light up the atmosphere around you. Frederic Malle is so great when it comes to floral perfumes. They make them magical.
The longevity of Iris Poudre is great with moderate projection. It lasts for 8 to 10 hours on my skin.
Even if you are not into floral scent, I would want you to give it a try because it is just one of a kind.

Lipstick Rose Frederic Malle: Unique Rose Scent
What is the first thing that comes up in your mind when you hear the name ‘Lipstick Rose’? You think about makeup, right?
Yes, of course, the iris note here does not fail to give you that texture. But not only that, the rose comes with it as well.
If you are thinking, this is another floral scent then let me correct you. Because it does not only have florals but some exciting fruity notes are also there.
In the beginning, the grapefruit and raspberry give a punch of fruitiness. It smells like a fruity cocktail.
It serves you with a longevity of 7 to 8 hours by creating a bubble around you.

Une Rose Frederic Malle: Bold & Potent Perfume
Are you more into bold and potent fragrances? Because Une Rose Frederic Malle is exactly that.
We all have those days in our lives where our confidence level is at the peak so we just want to show the world how bold and unapologetic we are about it. This scent is the clear representation of that mood.
It is a nuclear bomb when it comes to performance and longevity. It can easily stay with you for 12 to 14 hours with one spray.
The rose in this one is very rich as well as the fruity notes. They walk neck to neck in this fragrance. You’ll also find a musky and woody vibe in the background.

Superstitious Frederic Malle: Unique Soapy Perfume
I first smelled Superstitious from my cousin who got this classy bottle as soon as it got released. She is a big fan of this house. And I started experimenting with Frederic Malle from her to be honest.
Superstitious is an aldehyde-based fragrance. Yes, there are floral, patchouli and some spiciness lurking out at the back.
However, no one takes the attention away from the aldehydes. The aldehyde is not bubbly, it smells expensive and gives a soapy texture. It smells like a big chunk of soap with essential oil.
The florals help with that as well. There is this powdery vibe from the evaporated amber.
The strong patchouli in here reminds me more of carnation than patchouli itself for some reason.
The uplifting combination of fresh vetiver and smoky incense is to die for. It is a vintage inspired scent.

Une Fleur de Cassie Frederic Malle: Light & Luxurious Floral
Une Fleur de Cassie was created by Dominique Ropion. He has his hands on many floral perfumes of other popular houses as well. His floral compositions are breathtaking.
I have had it in my collection for a very long time. Therefore, I know every little detail about this fragrance.
Just a heads up: it is the lightest one on the list. It is like you are wearing a luxury floral-scented moisturiser.
The perfume is centered around mimosa and cassis. It has a buttery feeling coming from the aldehyde. As aldehydes were used in many of the old perfumes, you will get a vintage touch from this one.
Jasmine is just bubbling in the background, giving the fragrance more dimensions. It is an elegant scent altogether. Dominique Ropion has tried to change his game as he is always making loud perfumes.
